Coming into the Shoe last Saturday, Michigan State was ranked No. 3 in the nation in rushing defense, allowing only 87 yards on the ground per game. How quickly things change. Ohio State ran for 335 yards and four TDs against Sparty, thanks in part to a dominating performance by the offensive line.
Yesterday Urban Meyer praised the line’s success on his weekly call-in show on 97.1 The Fan, “Our offensive line is one of the most improved areas on our team…It was against a rugged defensive line. We knew going into the game that they had to play well. Game-planning, I thought the offensive staff did a really nice job. But game-planning without execution by the players is a joke. So (it was) a really nice job by our offensive line.” Bill Rabinowitz with more on the success of the O-line. Illinois has the No. 104 ranked rushing defense in the country.
