Ohio State was ranked No. 6 in the country in the first College Football Playoff rankings released last night. OSU ranks behind Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson, and Oklahoma. The Buckeyes sit just in front of Penn State, TCU, Wisconsin, and Miami in the top 10. Read the full rankings here. In the two previous seasons that the Buckeyes made the playoff, OSU was not ranked in the top 4 in the first committee poll. In 2014, the Buckeyes were ranked No. 16 in the first playoff poll, last year OSU was ranked No. 6. With the entire month of November and conference championship games left, if OSU keeps winning they have as good a shot to make the playoff as any team (FiveThirtyEight currently gives the Buckeyes the third best odds in the country to qualify for the playoff).
