It’s a battle of extremes as the nation’s worst passing defense (OSU) takes on the nation’s worst passing offense (Army) at 4:30 ET in the Shoe. Ohio State’s secondary will not face much of a test today against Army’s dangerous triple option attack, which has rumbled for 417.2 yards per game — second best in the country — and a 2-0 start. The Black Knights have a grand total of 17 yards passing after two games, completing only a single pass for positive yards this season.
How will Ohio State respond after the loss to the Sooners? Vegas has the Buckeyes big — 30.5 point favorites.
PREDICTION: Look for Ohio State to get back in gear as the deep OSU defensive line disrupts the Black Knights run game. OSU’s offense finds a rhythm against an Army team that allowed 12.1 yards per pass attempt and 5.2 yards per carry in a come from behind 21-17 victory against not-exactly-a-powerhouse Buffalo last week. Buckeyes 49-10.
It’s game day, and I’m at BWI airport before sunrise this AM flying to Chicago. I’ll be in Evanston tonight, one of the estimated 10 total people that will be in attendance watching Northwestern-Bowling Green. I’ll be joined by friend of the Buckeye Daily Taylor Birkos, on the hunt for some serious deep dish pizza. I’ve yet to find anything to beat Lou Malnati’s — I mean seriously, just look at this pizza — but let me know if you have any recommendations.
