Urban — ‘JT’s Accuracy is Incredible Right Now’

After practice No. 15, Urban Meyer and first-year quarterbacks coach Ryan Day had some strong praise for J.T. Barrett. “His accuracy and just his energy level right now is incredible… He’s got complete ownership and everything going on in that offense…Very accurate player right now,” said Meyer. Ryan Day added, “I’m proud of the command he’s had of the offense and the quick decision-making he’s shown in practice. The ball’s coming out of his hand quickly, he’s confident in what he’s doing, his eyes are right…you can tell that he has a rhythm.”

Camp Battles: Meyer offered other thoughts on the camp’s most watched position battles:

  • Backup Quarterback: It’s a two-player battle between redshirt sophomore Joe Burrow and redshirt freshman Dwayne Haskins. An impressive Tate Martell is still grasping the offense.
  • Right Guard: Too early to tell here, coaches are evaluating Malcolm Pridgeon…Brandon Bowen…Demetrius Knox and Matt Burrell.”
