Conley Declares; Day In, Beck Out

By Jim Baird | AM Football Briefing | Wednesday, January 4 – 6:00 AM

Conley Declares; Beck Out – Don’t blink, player and coaching moves are happening fast now. As expected, redshirt junior cornerback Gareon Conley declared for the NFL Draft, announcing the move on Instagram yesterday. Meanwhile, Ryan Day, a Chip Kelly protégé, joined OSU as the new quarterbacks coach. Day replaces Tim Beck, who is headed to join Tom Herman at Texas as offensive coordinator. Reports also indicate that former Indiana coach Kevin Wilson will soon join Ohio State as offensive coordinator. The coaching moves should add some much needed creativity after the Buckeye offense struggled in the latter half of 2016 under Beck.
