Ohio State Closing on #1 Recruiting Class: The Buckeyes received commitment No. 17 for the Class of 2017 from four-star Indiana linebacker Pete Werner. With Werner, Ohio State continues to sit with the No. 2 class in the country according to 247 Sports — and are closing in on top-ranked Alabama. 2017 OSU quarterback commit Tate Martell tweeted that Ohio State has at least two more five-star commitments on the way. Could he be right? The Buckeyes are the favorite for five-star safety Jeffrey Okudah. They are also in the hunt for five-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, running back Cam Akers, cornerback Darnay Holmes, and wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones. Alabama has had the top recruiting class every single year since 2011 — if Ohio State keeps it up, that streak will fall.
