Ohio State’s Mammoth Recruiting Weekend: Urban Meyer is looking to unseat Nick Saban at Alabama for the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class. Saban has had the top ranked class according to 247 Sports since 2010. Who had the top class in 2010? Urban Meyer at Florida. Mirroring the playoff rankings, Alabama’s 2017 class sits at No. 1 with Ohio State at No. 2. Ohio State had long sat in the number one spot, but a string of commitments to the Tide and a flip by four-star offensive lineman Jake Moretti, from the Buckeyes to his home state Colorado Buffaloes, pushed the Tide to the top spot. The Tide’s hold of the top spot may not last for long. This weekend Urban hosts a loaded list of visitors, including Class of 2017 five-stars: defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, safety Jeffrey Okudah, linebacker Baron Browning, cornerback Darnay Holmes, and offensive tackle Trey Smith. Andrew Lind with more on the big weekend lined up. Saban is also set for a big recruiting weekend with the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa, more on ‘Bama’s visitor list here from Drew Champlin.
