‘BASIC’ BUCKEYES LIGHT UP SOONERS 45-24: How do you like them apples? Oklahoma backup quarterback Austin Kendall said earlier in the week that Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield would ‘light up’ OSU’s ‘basic’ defense. At times running for his life, Mayfield was sacked three times and threw two interceptions  — including a 68 yard pick-six to linebacker Jerome Baker. The pick-six was the fourth of the season for Ohio State, which tied the school record after only three games (OSU already has eight total interceptions). Afterwords, captain Raekwon McMillan gathered the team to pose with a ‘Basic’ defense sign and held it while the team sang Carmen Ohio. Cardale Jones also had something to say. Jones tweeted that OSU’s offense is pretty basic too  — just throw it to Noah Brown (who racked up four touchdowns). Urban Meyer is now 19-0 in true road games at Ohio State. A pretty basic record.
