FASTER DEFENSE? Speed kills in college football. When asked in the spring, defensive tackle Tracy Sprinkle said this year’s defense could be faster than last season. Tim May with Sprinkle’s latest thoughts on the speed of this year’s defense, “I think we’re going to be very fast.” Defensive line coach Larry Johnson to Eric Seger, “We have a lot of quick 280, 295 guys who can run.”
